WHO WE ARE

The backbone of our brand, our story, inspirations, and even a message from our designer herself.

Designer Back Story

Called into the industry at an early age. My passions all surrounded by every aspect of the industry, and the inner goal to achieve as many skills as I could. From German decent, I had the ability to learn hand sewing from my Oma at age 6, which only strengthened my love for mending, and working on small projects together.

At the age of 8, I took the chance to learn machine sewing and excelled fairly quickly. Styling was an easy task as I would always pair my outfits together and walk around with them confidently especially with my frilly socks with patent flats. Growing up in the 90's had its perks, especially when it came to working with my first lightboard made from Barbie where I would occasionally take model stencils (croquis) from the internet, to draw and design, clothing/apparel pieces with colour.

My faith and outlook on life is not something that is taught. Being a devout Christian helped her stay grounded, humble, and despite what the world may throw at her, she stays positive and never losing faith in the hopes that things will change for the better soon. The elements are rare in someone especially a designer, but it is one of the many things that sets me apart from other designers.

CHRISTIAN GERMAN ROOTS

Heritage & Culture

Inspired by the historic fashion forward elegance of Europe, and especially German, my strong influences came from within the family. My grandmother being a model her self while living in a castle, to assist in selling garments made to market in the local shops. This is where the amazing poise, elegance, styling skills were first pulled strongly into the generations that would follow.

When it came to my Opa, he saw how confident she looked at a local event, and they caught glances. Needless to say, they ended up together but it was the confidence and style that first pulled the interest.

ROLE MODELS: CHEVAL, EMILY LYONS, CHRISTIAN DIOR

Mentors & Role Models

Influenced by personal and professionals growing up, Christian Dior played a major role in starting my early works. The ability to create beautiful simply elegant garments that made any woman who wore it feel beautiful. Instant confidence was created when a woman wore one of his creations.

In addition to Dior, a female entrepreneur who has inspired the female business woman in me is Emily Lyons of Toronto who started her first company with very little in her pocket. She is now one of the most successful female entrepreneurs of our generation. Another female entrepreneur that is not only a role model/mentor but proud to call a friend as well; Cheval (formally Hayley Paige). Beyond the obstacles she has been through, she is the definition of strength and resilience despite what the world may throw at her. This designer is fearless and explores different areas of the industry with wisdom and grace within her.

From the family, Grandparents on my parents side, my Tante (aunt) Rosy, Oma and Opa bringing elegance, poised, and dapper with the love for animals as well as family. The edge that sets me a part from others in the world, are provided by my mother's style.

TICKLES, CHARLIE, & JÄGER FRITZ

Why Canines?

My heart for dogs has always been there, especially for Dobermans. At a young age, we acquired our first female doberman named Tickles, and we were blessed to have her for 11
1/2 years. Our 2nd Dobie was a male named Charlie that survived 9 3/4 years and succumbed to DCM by his 10th year. Currently, we have welcomed a Red Doberman this time around called Jager Fritz who obtained his name by his Oma by combining her favourite drink and the first name of her father.

During this time, we welcomed our relatives dog breeds to visit like boxers, labradoodles, German Shepards, poodles, Great Danes, and even Pitbulls. Unfortunately, many of these large breeds of dogs have been given a negative and false image by the Public especially Pitbulls and Dobermans. Our goal is to erase that stigma around these larger perhaps intimating breeds and have them welcomed into homes whether they are rescues or even puppies from breeders.
